Lessons with Marissa

Marissa has been teaching for over 6 years with students from all ages, backgrounds, and ability levels. Lessons with her are student centered and goal oriented, with careful personal attention to each student.

Her Teaching Philosophy

Marissa believes everyone should have access to the gift and expression of music. Music has the power to touch and change all who participate in it, and should not be reserved to an elite few. She actively works on dismantling biases within her own studio, and is striving constantly a more inclusive environment. She works to maintain the highest quality lessons for each student, prioritizing the creation of a safe space for students to know they are valued with care and sensitivity. First and foremost, she is devoted to helping each student grow and learn a new skill with the goal of becoming a more confident and independent musician.

Private Lessons

Marissa runs a full time, rapidly growing studio. Her students receive weekly individual lessons, access to recordings, scores & personalized teaching material, performance opportunities, professional collaborative pianists, chamber music, and much more. She works hard to create a community for her students to grow and share their musical journey with others.
